As part of the policy dialogue series the Education Dialogue SA team convened a dialogue to explore Learner and Teacher Wellbeing in South African Schools on 12 April 2024 at the Park Lodge Hotel, Pretoria.
The Dialogue was centred around the Care and Support for Teaching and Learning Policy Framework of the Department of Basic Education. This was with a view to gather insights from stakeholders in attendance on enhancing the provision of care and support in and through schools.
Liko Bottoman from the DBE and Andile Dube UNICEF led discussions through the lens of the CSTL framework and put forth its recommendations to strengthen the coordination role of the DBE and broaden focus on climate change and learner agency in the context of the 21st century.
